Alert!

July 26, 2008 at 7:50 pm (Alabama)

So Kate and I were on our way to patton creek to view the wonder that is The Dark Knight once again… And we ran into a little traffic.

We had no idea what was causing the delay- but the wonderful traffic signs gave us no help because they still don’t give any useful information.

This one said air quality alert- carpool.

Yes. Please. Let me pull over now that I’m already on the interstate, call up some buddies- “hey let’s ride together”

So many stupid people with stupid ideas

Obtrusive

July 26, 2008 at 6:44 pm (Alabama, Starbucks)

So I already posted this picture on Facebook but I didn’t explain.
This is a building in mountain brook village. It is being built where an old gas station used to be. The only problem that I have with it is that it towers over everything else in the village.

Something tells me that it is not built exactly to code.

hot pants

July 25, 2008 at 12:12 am (facebook)

While checking on some [Facebook] things you might notice some images in the ad columns that are mildly sexual. Is that the right word? Some say nsfw- not safe for work. Here is an example of what I meanOk. So this is not so bad right? Well its enough to look like a myspace profile picture! Haha.

While I’m in class I see the people in front of me on their laptops surfing the internet… thats another issue altogether. There was this one guy who would have images like this to the side of his head (from my view). I thought- Is this guy really looking at this stuff in CLASS? No- I realized today he was writing on his friends’ walls on facebook. I think the others I saw were probably more AA ads or maybe just the “Snorg tees girl“, who coincidentally went to Auburn.

I make the remark about myspace becuase, well- it’s true. Myspace can be great for friends but it is also trashy- so trashy. That is the sole reason it is so popular and stays that way. Facebook fights to remain the “cleaner” of the two but… the ads? I guess they will just accept money for anything. They just know that everyone is going to click on those orange hot-pants. I think that is what AA calls them.

Please, Please facebook- do not lose your resolve. put more of the thubs up thubs down buttons up so I can be caesar!

fast lane

July 24, 2008 at 8:07 pm (Uncategorized)

I was just pondering the “why nots”.

When I say that I mean…

You’re jumping in the car, going 5 blocks- why not just buckle up?

Someone is right behind you in a rush out a door- why not just hold the door?

The light turns yellow and you could stop- why not?

You could walk to the store instead of driving- why not?

You could be 10 minutes early to everything- why not?

Well Im not a person that always follows theses thoughts but I try. I think people just move too fast and forget that they are living. We are machines- ugly, greasy, noisy machines. We don’t yield to anything. We fight to pass someone on the interstate just to get over in the right lane and let them pass us over again.

Too flashy

July 24, 2008 at 1:11 am (Alabama, Music)

I was going to write something about how stupid the mayor of my city is. I won’t even mention his name because that’s probably what he wants. All I have to say is he is an idiot. He pulled some publicity scheme today and almost no one cared. How can people be so stupid? Why are so many incompetent people in leadership positions?

I’m enjoying some quiet music at home right now. Marvin Gaye is singing Inner City Blues: Make me wanna holler and I think that fits the whole (why do we pay taxes for stupid people to waste) idea.

I’ve been up since 4:20 am and I’ve had way too much coffee. I might just pass out before i finish this pos………………………..fjawilwaaaaaanvczzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Motivation

July 23, 2008 at 6:29 pm (Starbucks, Work)

I worked the opening shift this morning at Starbucks. I find that I never really want to crawl out of bed that early (4:30am ish). Yet I do this every Wednesday. In the winter I opened twice a week… If not three times. Anyway.
As soon as I step outside and realize that not many others are out and about, here comes my motivation. NO STUPID DRIVERS! Well- except me.

I like to get there first and just sit in my car with my eyes closed as if I slept there all night.

When I leave around 11am it is a different world. My motivation is nap time.

Loopy

July 23, 2008 at 3:57 am (iPhone)

So here we are. I never thought I would use wordpress but I think that was moslty because they were so much like blogger. I was already thinking about trying wordpress and then I saw the iPhone app in the app store today. Wow! Great idea and good job on beating iWeb, blogger and Facebook “notes” for that matter.

The app store on the iPhone has exceeded my expectations. I love the productivity tools and games.
One of my favorites is pictured below “Loopt”! Loopt integrates the iPhone’s gps to show your location and share it with friends. Creepy right? Well I thought that too at first. After adding friends I found just how fun it is. You can share pictures of where you are in real time and see friends that are close to you. The local places section needs some work. Another app called yelp gives user reviews for local places to eat… Given people have actually gone to more than one place on a block. If there was built in reviewing from Loopt… That would be cool.
My point- I think every iPhone owner should use Loopt. It’s free!
(this other picture is me trying to utilize the snapshot function while the icons are in wiggle mode, if you have an iPhone you know what I mean)

Been miles

July 22, 2008 at 6:29 pm (Alabama) (, )

It is so hot here in Alabama. Trying to enjoy the sunshine is a pain when you’re sweating as soon as you step in it. In order to feel good about my accomplishments in a day I find that doing housework (inside) is a great strategy. I cleaned off my desk and of ends up looking like this.
